My other life:
The “nine-to-five” career:
1967 – 1998 – Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (retired)
Worked in progressively responsible administrative functions over 31 years, mostly
at the World Trade Center: secretarial, computer support, accounts payable, public services
administration, lease account management. Principal violinist in 1982 employee-produced
musical spoof on the Port Authority. (Read article in 2018 PA retirees' newsletter.) Medal
awards and bonuses in 1983, 1991 and 1993. Major accomplishments included asbestos
abatement relocation and replication of officespace for over 50 WTC tenants (8-year project).
Formerly licensed Real Estate Broker in New York State.
The home front:
1979-2001 – domestic partner to the late Herbert V. Schultz, Food Technologist, Violinist,
and violin teacher. BS Analytical Chemistry, Columbia University. Army 1958-62.
Studied violin with Sam Applebaum, Micha Michakoff. Laboratory and food science
expertise for Colgate, Swift & Co., Frutarom-Meer Corp. and AEP Colloids. President of
Water Soluble Gums Association of America and INGAR (International Gum Arabic
Research organization). Concert Master of Family Opera of North Bergen. Ass’t Concert
Master and Manager of Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Died 12/14/01.
Married Alan R. Klase 12/30/07, electrical engineer, guru of antique radios, personal
computers, semiconductors. Field Applications Engineer for Toshiba, Oki Semiconductors.
Currently guiding the development, construction and management of InfoAge, a scienceMilitary Service 1968-71: US Army Signal Corps. Education: Drexel
museum built out of the former Marconi radio transmission site in Wall Twp, NJ.

Former owner of an 1892 Victorian townhouse on upscale street in prestigious
turn-of-the-century Jersey City neighborhood. Purchased nearby colonial converted to ranch
1987 – 2004 – inherited and managed a two-family dwelling in Kearny, NJ
